Where It Began

In 2013, Asif Aslam — then a Masters in Fine Art graduate — stepped into a senior management role within Europe’s largest storage company. Recognised by his peers as a transformational leader, he was tasked with improving efficiency and productivity across a complex operation.

A significant part of the business relied on third-party logistics and removals companies. Over the following 24 months, one consistent issue became clear: there was no company delivering the standard of care that art, antiques, and valued possessions truly required.

Common problems included:

Poor time management

Missed appointments

Unprofessional staff conduct

Negligence resulting in damage

For businesses and collectors entrusted with irreplaceable pieces, this simply wasn’t good enough.

The Question That Changed Everything

Asif began asking a straightforward question:

How difficult would it be to create a logistics company that is impeccably mannered, genuinely customer-focused, price-conscious — and treats every item with absolute precision and care?

In 2017, Saphoy was founded with one clear objective:

To become the finest art and antiques logistics company in the UK.
